Super Monday Gratitude

Sometimes there aren’t enough hours in the day and I get frustrated that I can’t get it all done. Those are the moments that I remind myself to take stop, breathe and remember. I remind myself to remember all the things I have been able to accomplish, all that I have been so very fortunate to experience and that my best work is always yet to come.

As I was going through that exercise this afternoon, I came across this picture from last Fall. A moment that I am ever so grateful for. Had I told myself I was too busy for this conference or that I couldn’t afford to go, this moment would have been missed.

With me in this photo is Dr. Raphael Mechoulam. If it wasn’t for his work, my work wouldn’t exist. They call Dr. Mechoulam the grandfather of medicinal cannabis. He was the first to characterize THC and CBD at the molecular level and his research led to the discovery of the endocannabinoid system. His tireless work since the mid 60’s has given us so much understanding of ourselves and this giving plant.

Feeling grateful to have been able to shake his hand, look him in the eye and say “thank you.”

(Oh and that man with the brilliant smile in the background is Cameron Hattan, co-founder of Fiddler’s Greens, one of my favorite cannabis companies here in California and a remarkable human being)
