One Minute Cannabist was founded by southern California natives, Terry & Robbin Lynn. Their combined decades of experience in the industry working directly with medicinal cannabis patients and suppliers, paired with the clinical expertise of medical doctors,  registered nurses and  veterinarians allow us to bring a unique and comprehensive view to the topic of healthy, safe and effective cannabis use in people and pets.

Dr. Katie Kangas is an integrative veterinarian, which means she focuses on preventative health and supporting natural healing or wellness through many holistic options in combination with traditional veterinary medicine.

Preventative wellness and holistic care options include diet/food choices, nutritional supplements, acupuncture, herbal medicines, homeopathic remedies, essential oils and more.

Conventional medicine (for both animals & people) tends to focus more on the treatment of disease and the symptoms of disease, after the condition or illness presents itself. While this type of health care can have value, it also has limitations.

Preventative and integrative veterinary medicine aim to support the animal’s health through diet, nutrition and lifestyle practices that allow our pets to be more resilient to disease and live better quality lives. In other words, providing our pets with the tools to thrive, rather than to just survive.

The most balanced health care uses a combination of both conventional and holistic options. This is called Integrative Medicine. It is the  goal of Dr. Kangas’s practice to empower pet parents to make better choices and take a more active role in promoting health and quality of life for their pets.

Sherry Yafai, M.D. is an Emergency Medicine Physician who has transitioned into Cannabis Based Medicine in 2017. In 2018 she joined the John Wayne Cancer Institute, as an Adjunct Associate Professor.

She graduated from UCSD Medical School in 2005 and UCSD Emergency Medicine Residency in 2009. In 2017, after recreational marijuana laws had passed, Dr. Yafai opened her private Cannabis Clinic, the ReLeaf Institute, where she sees patients referred by physicians for cannabis education and treatment. She is a member of the UCLA Cannabis Initiative, co Vice President of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians and has recently been appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Providence St. John’s working with cannabis and cancer research.

Dr. Yafai is the current Director of Research and Development for High Sobriety, a rehabilitation group that incorporates non-smokable cannabis treatment in the rehabilitation of patients away from alcohol and drug addiction. This innovative approach has paved the way for a new and effective pathway away from narcotics to help solve today’s opioid crisis.

Dr. Yafai believes in empowering patient to participate in their care. Her approach is direct and action-focused, working with physical therapy, cognitive therapy, as well as traditional medicine. She offers individual counseling and management of medications in a personalized, small private practice.

Dr. Mironchik-Frankenberg is a veterinarian with 15 years combined experience in small animal practice and shelter medicine. She is also a passionate cannabis advocate. She first discovered the world of medical cannabis during a long battle with a career-ending injury. After achieving her own impressive results, she began investigating how to spread the word to others in need. She has since left clinical practice and immersed herself in the study of cannabis science and in 2016, completed the master certificate program through the Cannabis Training University and became a certified cannabis consultant. Since then, she has helped educate countless others on the healing benefits of this miraculous plant.

She is devoted to lifelong learning and has earned her certificate of completion in the clinical cannabinoid medicine program through The Medical Cannabis Institute. She is a member of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, the Association of Cannabis Professionals, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Canadian Association of Veterinary Cannabinoid Medicine and the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association. She is the founder of Veterinary Cannabis Consultants.  She is currently pursuing opportunities to help bridge the gap between the cannabis industry, human medical cannabis patients and the veterinary world.

When she is not speaking or consulting, she enjoys traveling, gardening, yoga, movies, gourmet cooking and spending time with her husband of 20 years, her 2 boys and her 2 shelter pups. Lastly, she prefers to be called “Beth”.

Teri Polley is celebrating her 41st year as a RN and over 25 years as a Massage therapist and Holistic Health Practitioner. She is a member of the American Cannabis Nurses Association and received her Certificate of Completion in Cannabis Education from The Medical Cannabis Institute.

Teri has been providing guidance to patients who are interested in using cannabis as medicine to improve their overall health since 2017. Her clinical expertise, coupled with her passion for helping people through natural methods gives her a unique perspective from which to help others. Those with complex medical issues, concerned about drug interactions or who just prefer a more a more clinically guided approach to cannabis use will find her a refreshing alternative to traditional nursing.

Teri is married and lives in North San Diego County. For fun and relaxation she gardens, rides her e-bike and enjoys flat water paddle-boarding. She is mom to 3 French bulldogs and foster mom to one West Highland Terrier.
